Engineering Manager

Shiftbase is entering its next stage of growth. With 8,500+ customers and solid growth ambitions, we're scaling our platform and teams across Europe. We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the way. Someone who can drive change, build high-performing development teams and create tight alignment with Product.

This is a strategic leadership role. You'll manage multiple development teams and work closely with the CTO, Chief of Product and other Engineering Manager. You ensure our technical execution can support a fast-scaling SaaS business. Your focus: people, process, delivery and the ability to make it all scale.

You’ll bring the energy, structure and clarity needed to keep teams aligned and performing at speed while maintaining quality. 

What you’ll do

• Lead, scale and coach multiple development teams to deliver business impact

• Translate product vision into scalable technical delivery across teams

• Foster a culture of ownership, speed and continuous improvement

• Partner closely with Product in a PLG setup

• Improve team rituals, delivery pipelines and engineering standards

• Drive recruitment, onboarding and talent development within engineering

• Tackle architectural and organizational challenges with a pragmatic approach

What you bring

• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams. Preferably in a fast-scaling SaaS business

• A track record of delivering features that create customer and business value

• Experience with CI/CD, modular systems and scaling engineering practices

• An energetic, outcome-oriented leadership style

• Ability to coach, guide and challenge teams through change

• Fluent in English. Dutch is a bonus but not required

Recruitment process

We begin the process with an introductory call with our recruiter, Marieke. Next, you’ll interview with Kars (CTO and co-founder) and Ivo (CPO). After this step you’ll meet Jurrien (CEO and co-founder) and Marco (Engineering Manager). The last step will be a combination of an assessment and meeting colleagues from the Engineering department.
