About the role
As a Platform Engineer at Shiftbase, you’ll be a key player in building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our SaaS platform. You’ll work behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently empowering product teams with the tools and pipelines they need to move fast with confidence.
You’ll design and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps principles. From CI/CD pipelines to monitoring and automation, you’ll improve developer experience, minimize toil, and enable a self-service culture that lets teams focus on delivering value.
We’re not chasing complexity. We value simplicity, maintainability, and long-term reliability. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about platform excellence, enjoys enabling others, and thrives in a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
What success looks like
• You’ve implemented scalable infrastructure and automation that improves developer workflows.
• You’ve helped product teams ship faster through stable, maintainable CI/CD pipelines.
• You’ve reduced toil and improved observability with better logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• You’ve advocated for simplicity, reducing technical debt and improving the platform iteratively.
• You’ve enabled a strong self-service culture through tooling, documentation, and collaboration.
Who you are
You’re a platform engineer who sees infrastructure as a product and developers as your customers. You love improving systems, but you love unblocking people even more. You think like a builder, act like an owner, and strive for clean, secure, and pragmatic solutions.
You are:
• Experienced – You’ve worked with cloud infrastructure (K8s, GCP), CI/CD, and automation.
• Simplicity-first – You avoid complexity and aim for clear, maintainable systems.
• Collaborative – You pair program, seek feedback, and support your teammates.
• Communicative – You can explain complex infra in simple terms to any audience.
• Curious – You stay up-to-date and continuously improve yourself and your work.
Bonus points if you:
• Have hands-on experience with IaC (e.g., Terraform) and GitOps workflows.
• Have built internal tooling and self-service platforms for developers.
• Are familiar with containerization, observability stacks, or SRE practices.
• Have experience with scripting (e.g., Bash, Python) and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
What you’ll do
• Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure
• Improve and automate CI/CD pipelines for faster, safer deployments
• Set up monitoring and logging to increase observability across environments
• Reduce toil and technical debt through automation and refactoring
• Enable product teams with self-service tooling and improved developer experience
• Champion a shift-left mindset for security, testing, and ownership
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and platform hardening
• Support team growth through mentorship, pairing, and documentation
What’s in it for you?
• Benchmarked competitive salary based on experience
• 25 vacation days (based on a 40-hour contract)
• Excellent pension plan & NS Business Card (if applicable)
• Hybrid-friendly with flexible working hours
• High-end laptop (Mac or Windows)
• Travel reimbursement and a personal training budget
• Quarterly hackathons, team BBQs, Friday drinks, and more
• A growing product and engineering culture you can help shape
