About the role

Lifecycle marketing is essential to driving customer success at Shiftbase. From onboarding and activation to retention and reactivation, this role ensures that users quickly and seamlessly experience the full value of our platform.

Crucially, this role requires a strong sense of ownership over our infrastructure. You will not only architect full-funnel conversion systems but also take ownership of the end-to-end marketing technology map. You will identify data gaps and bring a clear plan to resolve them, ensuring we have the reliable foundation needed to fly.

You will work closely with Product, Data, and Activation teams to bridge the gap between strategy, content, and technical execution.

What success looks like

In this role, success means boosting product adoption and designing scalable frameworks that drive activation, retention, and upsell.

You will design and execute programs that:

  • Architect and drive the resolution of data and technology gaps, ensuring actionable insights are available for automation.

  • Lead experimentation strategy and data-driven growth systems, moving beyond simple A/B testing to build a culture of learning.

  • Architect GTM programs that tie directly to company growth targets, utilizing automation to deliver the right messages at the right time.

  • Guide customers to their ‘aha’ moment and first value experience, ensuring sustained engagement.

You are:

  • Tech-savvy & solution-oriented – You don’t need to be a data engineer, but you must be able to identify data gaps, define requirements, and connect product, marketing, and lifecycle data for insight.

  • A Master Storyteller – You can craft narratives and launch-ready assets that highlight value, with exceptional writing skills in Dutch.

  • Proactive & hands-on – You take ownership of the end-to-end technology map to ensure we can scale.

  • Native Dutch speaker – This is essential for our core market messaging.

  • Cross-functional Leader – You know how to align multiple departments around growth and customer value.

What you’ll do

Campaign Strategy & Content

  • Architect GTM programs and lifecycle campaigns that drive adoption and revenue.

  • Craft narratives and write compelling copy for emails, landing pages, and in-app messages in Native Dutch.

  • Develop playbooks and collateral that improve conversion.

Lifecycle & Automation

  • Design scalable engagement frameworks aligned with Shiftbase’s pricing and packaging strategy.

  • Leverage http://Customer.io to automate and personalize lifecycle journeys.

  • Own the marketing technology map: Ensure our tools (CRM, automation, analytics) talk to each other effectively and drive initiatives to fix connectivity or data issues.

Growth & Experimentation

  • Lead experimentation strategy: Create testing roadmaps and implement tracking infrastructure to refine key touchpoints.

  • Architect full-funnel conversion systems from awareness to retention, minimizing friction points.

  • Collaborate with the product activation team to remove barriers to early success.

Analytics & Insights

  • Bridge the gap between marketing and data: Work with data teams to define what data is needed to run effective campaigns.

  • Define metrics that guide cross-team decisions and forecast impact.

  • Champion a data-first culture across marketing and product teams.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for

Required skills & experience

  • Native Dutch speaker (Non-negotiable) – Exceptional writing skills. You can turn complex features into clear customer value.

  • Marketing automation expertise – Hands-on experience with http://Customer.io or similar platforms.

  • Tech ownership mindset – Ability to take ownership of end-to-end technology and map processes to ensure scalability.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience – in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM marketing within SaaS.

  • Strategic Architect – Proven experience building scalable enablement systems and lifecycle programs from scratch, not just managing existing ones.

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of growth loops, onboarding strategies, and segmentation frameworks.

  • Experience aligning marketing initiatives with pricing and packaging strategies.

  • Passion for automation and programmatic campaign design.
